The 5 Petals Story

The 5 Petals story, while full of light, actually begins in the darkest time of my life

The doctors said it couldn’t be done. The autoimmune diagnosis that took me out at the knees was not something I could win against - my body had just turned against itself.

Yet I knew there had to be more to the story.

Bodies, minds, and hearts are made to thrive - so if I wasn’t thriving, there must be something I could do about it.

I learned that stress, when not released as the body intends, accumulates and causes very real physical, mental, and emotional trauma to the body. Over time, the havoc wreaked can lead to significant disease and can even become life threatening. I learned that I didn't have to change my life to change my stress - but to regain my resilient health, I would have to turn inward.

This led me on a journey of discovery to deeply and fully transform the stress patterns that were crippling my body. I delved into cutting-edge research in neuroplasticity, neuromuscular physiology, advances in the understanding of lymphatic and myofascial body systems, the functional health model of stress, inflammation and detoxification, the effects of meditation and mindfulness on brain wave states, somatic and trauma theory, regulation of the nervous system, neurolinguistic programming, and, with awe, surveyed the teachings of many different wisdom traditions across time and geography.

As I implemented what I learned, I discovered that the techniques and principles worked synergistically. When you nurture the mind, you directly support the body and emotional life, and when you tend to the body, it helps balance your thoughts and emotions. You must engage the power of your mind, body, and heart together to get the most powerful healing.

This interconnected healing process falls into five guiding principles, or ‘petals,’ which can be applied in daily life to create lasting transformation:

  • Regulate the nervous system

  • Remodel the nervous system

  • Repattern the subconscious

  • Revitalize the whole being

  • Reclaim resiliency

When the 5 Petals Pathway began to yield the deep, abiding transformation I had been striving for my whole adult life - but until that point had been elusive - I knew I had discovered something that belonged to everyone.
